Dhruv Ghulati

Dhruv Ghulati

CEO and Research Scientist

Dhruv holds a Distinction in Computer Science and Machine Learning from University College London, and a 1st Class BSc in Economics from the LSE. He was a product manager and co-founder of two London based machine intelligence startups, and is an Entrepreneur First alum and Forbes 30 Under 30 leader in Technology. He wrote his thesis in cost-sensitive classification and distant supervision for statistical claim detection.

Barney Jackson

CTO

Barney has spent the last five years working with startups and scaling social impact through technology in San Francisco. He has lead, architected, implemented and generally hustled as CTO at HandUp.org, Senior Backend Software Engineer at Salesforce.org, and first employee at Coffee Meets Bagel. He is an active participant in the open-source intelligence community and sees Factmata’s technology as an essential asset in the modern world. He did his bachelors degree in Computer Science & Artificial Intelligence, specialising in NLP, at the University of Edinburgh.

Anant Joshi

Chief Revenue Officer

Anant is an ad tech leader, an advisor and a company growth specialist. He is responsible for Global sales at Factmata. He formally led Meetrics from a startup to leading player across Europe on the subjects of ad viewability, brand safety and fraud detection. He also previously led the International growth of Eyeblaster/Mediamind (Sizmek) to NASDAQ IPO and Videoplaza acquired by Ooyala (Telstra). Anant is committed to positive, practical change and enjoys motivating people by making hard work fun.

Martin Robbins

Martin Robbins

Product Manager

Product manager and writer, with a background in artificial intelligence, natural language processing, writing and journalism. Martin spent over 7 years at The Guardian writing for the "Raising HAL" blog on AI, data, culture and politics. Before that he did his bachelors in Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence at Aberystwyth University. His mission is to "fix the news".

Dr. David Corney

Lead ML/NLP Engineer

David completed a PhD at UCL before applying machine learning to a range of real-world challenges, - from information extraction and breaking news detection on Twitter to plant species detection and visual - neuroscience. Most recently, he has combined machine learning with NLP to help build a media monitoring tool - at Signal Media.

Rishab Shukla

Rishabh Shukla

NLP Engineer

Rishabh graduated with a degree in Computer Science and Engineering and has been working on NLP and Deep Learning for last few years. Previously, he has been the CTO with a New Delhi based Machine Learning Startup and a Google Summer of Code Intern. He is involved with the research and development work of NLP Models to tackle misinformation and fake news.

Emmanuel Vincent

Emmanuel has designed the first fact-checking initiative to be crowdsourced from a community of domain experts: Climate Feedback organizes a worldwide community of scientists who collectively assess the credibility of influential climate change information. He holds a PhD in Climate Science and is a graduate from Ecole Normale Supérieure (Paris) and previously worked at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the University of California.

Zeerak Waseem

Zeerak Waseem

Ph.D. Intern

Zeerak is a PhD candidate at Sheffield University in NLP where he focuses on hate speech detection. His work deals with domain adaptation for hate speech detection, to allow building models that can utilise disjoint datasets. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Copenhagen, where he focused on intersecting feminist theory with NLP for hate speech detection.

Dina Pisarevskaya

Dina Pisarevskaya

NLP Engineer

Dina has a masters in NLP from the Higher School of Economics in Moscow. She published multiple papers on deception and fake news detection in Russian Language and contributed to research at the RusProfilingLab and Russian RST Treebank.

Marcus Clements

Marcus Clements

Backend developer

Marcus is a software engineer with nearly two decades of experience architecting and implementing applications for the media industry, including ITV and NBCUniversal. When he is not busy with the team combatting the spread of misinformation on the Internet, he spends his time studying for a research MSc in Artificial Intelligence at Hertfordshire University.

Full-stack developer

Martin is self-taught developer. He started to work as a freelance Front-end developer / Web designer back in 2009. Through his carreer he was working with several digital ad agencies from microsites to e-commerce portals. Before joining Factmata he worked as Senior Front-end / Lead developer at Reiss London on replatforming their website.

Dr. Sebastian Riedel

Dr. Sebastian Riedel

Scientific Advisor

Sebastian is a Reader at University College London and leading the Machine Reading Lab. He is an Allen Distinguished Investigator, Marie Curie fellow and received a Google Focused Research award. Sebastian is generally interested in the intersection of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning, and particularly interested in teaching machines to read and to reason with what was read. He has published various papers on this topic, covering questions related to scalable inference, probabilistic programming and representation learning.

Dr. Andreas Vlachos

Chief Research Scientist

Andreas is a lecturer at the University of Sheffield, working on the intersection of Natural Language Processing and Machine Learning. Current projects include natural language generation, automated fact-checking and imitation learning. He has also published research on semantic parsing, language modelling, information extraction, active learning, clustering and biomedical text mining.
